It was hot, and overcrowded… so we ventured off on our own. Thomas and I were not about the swimming area. There were so many people, and to be honest the crowd reminded me of what would be the crowd at Six Flags or Dorney Park’s water park…. After this, we were pretty tired so we headed to Green Lakes State Park to relax and do some exploring. We grabbed lunch at what seemed to be the only cafe in town. We hiked, got lost, walked along the road back, but still had a good time. We had a HOT weekend this weekend and it was nice to be shaded under the trees for this hike.

Still, it was a cool place to see and an adventure. Let’s just say this water fall should have been called “tinkle falls” or “trickle falls” because there was very little water flowing. The next morning, we woke up and headed to our first stop! The Tinker Falls trail. We arrived late on Friday night and had some cocktails and watched “The Office.” It was a pretty standard night for us, and there was literally no where to go out to in the area.

I highly recommend reading or watching it. The term “paper towns” comes from a book/movie by John Green. It was very small- had one grocery store, one cafe, one Italian restaurant, etc. Coming from a Jersey girl, this town was TINY. If you are unfamiliar with the term, a “paper town” is one that is not on a map and no one really knows about it. We did not actually go to a real paper town. To be honest, I had no idea what I was getting us into. I needed to see this for myself! I found an inexpensive airbnb nearby, in what looked to be a downtown area. Why did I plan this you ask? Well, I saw that this area had some cool hiking and waterfall spots as well as a BLUE/GREEN lake nearby. We drove about 4 hours north to a town in the middle of no where, NY. This weekend, Thomas and I headed out on a road trip adventure planned by yours truly of course.
